Amplify Health absorbs AI firm AiDA

Health tech company Amplify Health, a Singapore-based joint venture between AIA and Discovery Group, has acquired AI solutions provider AiDA Technologies.

Based on a press statement, AiDA, which was founded in 2016, develops proprietary ML technologies that are used to automate underwriting, claims processing, and detect fraud, waste, and abuse.

“The acquisition of AiDA Technologies adds further AI and machine learning capability to our existing IP and integrated health technology solutions stack that we are deploying throughout the region,” Dr Axel Baur, deputy chief executive of Amplify Health, explained.

Its offering also complements Amplify Health’s existing stack of solutions, claims processing and administration systems, integrated digital health programmes for managing chronic diseases, and insurance product development capabilities.

Dozee gets British International Investment’s backing for hospital bed upgrade

Indian medical device maker Dozee has received capital from British International Investment, the United Kingdom government’s development financial institution, for its initiative to upgrade regular hospital beds across India to step-down ICU beds.

BII now backs Dozee’s MillionICU initiative, which has an ambitious target to install one million step-down ICU beds. In particular, its capital infusion will help upgrade 6,000 hospital beds in about 140 public hospitals in the country.
To date, Dozee’s initiative has benefited 46 hospitals with over 10,000 patients being monitored using its RPM technology.

Chang Gung Memorial Hospital first in Taiwan to adopt AI-powered customer service

Chang Gung Memorial Hospital has become the first medical institution in Taiwan to become equipped with AI-powered text and smart voice-enabled customer service.

The 10,000-bed hospital – one of the largest medical centres in Taiwan – has adopted local software provider TPIsoftware’s SysTalk.Chat to transform patient experience.

Since trying out the AI technology last year, the AI voice agent Apo has assisted over 80,000 patients per month with their queries on appointment slots, admission, and medical information. It has also made outbound calling of patient inquiries for the history of travel, occupation, contact, and cluster to track the status of more than 18,000 patients each month.

“We are delighted to implement TPIsoftware’s SysTalk.Chat to deliver optimised customer experience and build seamless communication between the hospital and patients,” Chia-Hao Lee, manager of Medical Information Division at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital,” commented.
